I have nothing against Tom Dolby (son of groundbreaking sound meister Ray Dolby), and admit I haven't even read his writing - hey, I've heard some good things - so I don't mean to pick on him specifically here, but after reading about his new novel "The Sixth Form," I finally had to say something.
If you're currently writing a book set in a boarding school, or thinking about writing a novel set in a boarding school, I have one word for you: "Don't."
Enough books set among the privileged young lads struggling to find themselves amidst the confining confines of a New England prep school. Enough. Enough.
