Join award-winning writer Craig Phillips, MFA, for a 10 week screenwriting workshop (we meet in person only every other week so there would be 5 actual meetings) for fun writing exercises, script reading, film scene watching and discussion, and advice from a scriptwriter who has been through development hell and back (and again).

The workshop will be limited to no more than 8 participants to keep the size reasonable and intimate, so each participant will be able to get as much attention as they need.

How long? 5 sessions over 10 weeks (we will meet in person every other week)

    When:
    Saturdays beginning Sept 6, Sept 20, Oct 4, Oct 18 and 25.

    What:  (The Details)
The workshop will meet every other week on Saturdays beginning September 6. 2-5PM..
There will be group emails during the off week to check in, and individual consultations available during off weeks as well. The workshop leader/teacher will also set up a locked private blog for the participants to post scenes as they work on them for feedback from other students and the teacher.
Assignments are minimal but designed to keep you moving forward and writing.
We will also watch and discuss brief excerpts from outstanding examples of the screenwriting art, as inspiration for us in our own screenplays.
There will be time for in-class discussion of our works-in-progress.
And lastly one-on-one time with each participant.

What Level/Experience Should You Have? Both absolute beginners and more experienced writers who are looking to start again are welcome, though I will likely skip past the most boring and basic of questions.  I'll be working with you on either starting a new screenplay or getting you further along in one you're already working on.
